Last week, Everspin introduced the AEC-Q100 MRAM products for automotive applications, available in  x 8, x 16 and serial SPI interfaces. These MRAM products operate over an extended temperature range (-40ºC to 125ºC) and are optimized for high reliability.

Key Features:

  • +3.3Volt power supply
  • 35ns read/write cycle
  • SRAM compatible timing
  • Unlimited read & write endurance
  • Data always non-volatile for >20-years at temperature
  • RoHS-compliant TSOPII package
  • AEC-Q100 Grade1 AutomotiveTemperature (-40to+125°C)

The company explains that MRAM's fast and unlimited read/write endurance coupled with 20-year data retention makes it an "ideal memory solution for harsh automotive environments." Expected applications include engine control units, advanced transmission control, in-car data log, and multimedia systems for in-car entertainment.
