Magnetic Solutions, a provider of process solutions for the production of magneto electronic devices, today announced that its MRT magnetic annealing technology has been selected by the leading Taiwanese MRAM consortium, spearheaded by the Electronics Research and Service Organization (ERSO) in cooperation with leading foundry TSMC.
The Magnetic Solutions MRT1000 tool was selected in a competitive evaluation process of all available technologies, on the basis of its excellent process control, proven reliability and low cost of ownership. Tooling will be on 200mm wafer size, configured for 0.18 micron node, using the Magnetic Solutions ultra compact permanent magnet technology.
“This order is very significant as ERSO and the research it does are highly regarded by the major players in the Taiwan semiconductor industry. Being chosen by ERSO for the first MRAM development line in Taiwan, will enable us to support the development plans of the world's major foundries and gives added impetus to our development plans for 300mm tooling for MRAM,” stated David Hurley, CEO of Magnetic Solutions.
